Cindy McCain–The Woman You Want to Invite Home for Mac and Cheese

I must have seen a news blurb on Cindy McCain about twenty times now talking about how her vogue spread in jeans ( probably cost $hundreds) and a nice shirt (ditto) showed that she is just another candidates wife. Of course it did lounging there on HER terrace of one of her eight houses (this one on a beach). I cannot fathom who Cindy McCain is; she is probably nice. However, nothing I have seen would cause me to sidle up to her at a cocktail party and chat. I am an introverted type who prefers talking to a lamp than mingling but I did learn how to do so at many formal occasions as part of my official duties. So it is not a question of knowing how to do so.

Cindy just has not been able to interest me. She is the woman I would shake hands with as I dutifully proceeded through the reception line before racing over to talk to women like Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama. They would be fun, interesting, and worth jilting my devoted lamp and coming out of the corner for.

No matter what they do, Cindy McCain will not seem approachable to the average person. It will take more than jeans and a nice shirt to do that. Lets have a debate between the spouses of the contenders (all three) and see how that turns out. I will definitely be at that one with questions written on note cards.

Now that would be a great debate!

8 houses! That can’t be right. it can’t be. I like that line especially in Obama’s book when he says, “If your drapes cost more than some folk’s monthly salaries; you have too much.” I’m sure I garbled that quote but…8? Did you say 8? that just can’ tbe right!

    Yes indeed.

Librarian Lee…yes 8 is the number I read in one of the articles this morning while doing the post. One is the beach house where the Vogue layout was done. The jeans are Lucky Brand which means they probably cost less that $200.00.

I guess some of them may have been inheritied?

Not long after I posted this I checked my Feedjit and saw that 14 visitors had come to the site as a result of a search for either Cindy McCain Vogue, Cindy McCain, Cindy McCain Jeans. There was certainly a flurry of activity yesterday over the news cast blurb.

Absolutely immoral -she made it to Vogue on the strength of being a candidate’s wife? Unbelievable .And politically incorrect .

well in all fairness they did a piece on Michelle also. Any celeb will do these days it seems. Although Hillary declined.

  7. Oh, do I ever agree. I just feel that there is something about her demeanor that signalizes, “don’t come to close”. She doesn’t seem very ‘approachable’, even if she did seem to be a little more interesting. I’m not impressed, but like you wrote, she’s probably a nice enough person.

This is definitely the week of Mac & Cheese blogs, eh?

mmmm, mac & cheese. Excuse me, I gotta go do something…

  9. Cindy is her father’s daughter and her husband’s wife. Some might know what all that means, and what all it doesn’t.

  10. Onedia, thanks for coming by Maison Monmarte and leaving a comment. The people in my building are interesting and I must say I have sat on the stairs and listened to a cellist play as I made my way to the street. So perhaps I am …well lets not get into that.
