Paris
We began our journey in France and later proceeded to Italy via train. We arrived in Paris and were dead tired. We checked into our Hotel on Rue Cler , a typical market street in Paris. It was the day of Beaujolais Nouveau. We went out for a meal and a walk intending to have a short afternoon nap and go out again. Our small hotel was across from a neighborhood bar where we could hear the accordionist playing Bal-musette. We wanted to join the festivities but were so tired we just continued to sleep.
The next day we did the same thing. Although we walked under the Eiffel in the evening, we did not go in. We did walk down the Avenue des Champs-Élysées as everyone was heading to work. We loved the metro and found people quite friendly and helpful.
Our stay in Paris was too short as our plans took us east to Epinal in the Vosges to visit the family who hosted Lydia for her exchange year.

Loved Paris too. Stayed with friends out in the suburbs tho’.
