Dinner With Friends
We had the best experience in France at the home of a French family. They spoke little English so Lydia was the translator (her first interest in being a translator). The family were so welcoming and showed us their ancient town. We walked in the woods and visited the Basillica of St. Maurice and St. Goery in the city. We walked along the Moselle river and visited the Imagerie d’Epinal famous since 1796 for it’s cartoon or folk art which was developed in the fifteenth century as a way of advertising to or informing the illiterate. The early techniques are still used today and I purchased a poster of Venice during Carnival in the Gallery. We completed our tour with coffee at Lydia’s favorite cafe.

Sounds like a really great trip!
Lovely trip. One last post tomorrow and then we will take a walk around my favorite places and sites in Portland Oregon.
Beautiful! And I’m looking forward to hear about Portland! (Did we talk about that before?)
NGiP, I can’t remember if we did. I miss Portland in so many ways (like now when it is soooooo humid here) and of course the kids live there still. I miss the flowers and farm markets and Trader Joe’s and the great walking/hiking. Well , enough.
