As I sit here listening to THE debate I am repeatedly struck by the patronizing tone and words McCain directs toward Obama. He also continues to show that he has only two tunes…basically how wonderful he is and how we need spending cuts that would neglect the pressing issues that affect the average American.
He uses anecdotes and slogans and so forth and so on. Egad!
More thoughts. I am a long term typewatcher (Myers Briggs) and although it is a guess on my part I think that is personality is one that tends to be linear who deals best with things in sequential manner and he is one who tends to rely on that which he has known in the past or that has worked in the past. That simply confirms my thoughts that he is too glued to his past ways of doing things and will not be able to juggle the many things that a President must in an ordinary day much less in a time of crises. It also means he will not be able to accept or possibly grasp innovative thinking and problem solving. His idea of change really means changing to his way of operating and thinking rather than genuine innovation.
McCain spoke as an angry teacher trying to be patient to teach a child. How sad for him as the child knows so much more than just the past. the child has plans and goals and dreams for tomorrow. Sorry McCain, you just look back and are lost to the future. Obama is the future.
It was pretty obvious to me that there was something about Obama that McCain appeared to find distasteful. McCain also seemed on the verge of losing his temper.
McCain needs to retire. He might like it.
I felt that McCain was on the verge of a breakdown, or something like that. I’m guessing that he’s had a tough week being criticized by longterm colleagues regarding the way he handled the economic crunch as a tactic for his campaign. No matter what it was, it really doesn’t look like he wants to be in this race any longer. I joined the Obama campaign, mostly due to Biden being my original choice of candidate. We’ve been calling people in New Mexico…at least with the calls I’ve made in my group I’ve gotten an approx. 2-1 lean towards Obama. So, I hope things are ‘looking up’!
Hey you got new glasses! Very nice.
I agree. McCain seemed petulant and rude and also very limited in his thinking. Stodgy.
And I feel if he really loved this country he would have picked a running mate who knows more than I do about the issues facing this country. He says he’d never do anything to hurt this country and yet he did by nominating her and risking the possibility that she’d be running this country. He’s thinking only of himself.
Oh, and do we really want a president who brags that no one in the Senate likes him? What’s that say about leadership?
I was reading something the other day, in the reactions to the debate, that a person who avoids eye contact is a person in fear, a person who does not wish to listen to the other’s point of view. I assumed it was because he’s a racist but it could be that he sensed he was standing next to the better man.
