Today I installed two Obama/Biden lawn signs. I had to drive 120 miles and wait over an hour for the Arkansas Democrat Party office to open to get the signs. I picked up enough for me and for a friend who wanted one. We are in red country here and the availability of signage is sparse. I have driven the five square miles of this town and there are only two Obama/Biden signs in town and my friend’s will be the only one in the next town over the dam. There are other democrats in town, but most don’t speak up about it especially if they own a business. Since my friend owns a small resort, she is a brave soul.
I am so proud of my signs standing firm out there as beacons in the wilderness. My husband chuckled when I walked by the front windows to check that they were still there.
ONEDIA FOR OBAMA!
I will keep good thoughts for your signs staying in place. Obama is here today visiting his ill grandmother. Most everyone here loves him.
I’ve never put up any kind of political sign in my yard. The only political sign of any kind that I’ve ever used was for the 1988 election where I had a bumper sticker that said “No Dukes.” That, of course, was opposition to Michael Dukakis and was the only time I ever voted for a Bush. For me, politics is, for the most part, a private thing, except, of course, online. Most of the people I know are very conservative and most vote Republican…, though, this year, I suspect that more than a few of them will not be voting the party ticket. Of course, I’m NOT a Republican and I have not declared myself a Democrat. I prefer to be an independent, though I’ve heard a rumor that I lean a little to the left.
I did send some factual Obama information to a friend from high school that keeps sending all these rumors and innuendos relating to his past. It’s a real pity in her case, too. She is a single grandmother who has legal custody of two mixed race grandkids. I just do not understand, I guess.
Thanks to both of you. Today someone gave me 3 bumper stickers. Since Arkansas has tags only on the rear I am putting one on each auto on the front license plate holder.
Yea…they can see me coming.
